Communiqué of Paraguayan peasant and indigenous organizations on State of exception declared in the country
This communiqué, produced by Paraguayan peasant and indigenous organizations, expresses their deep concern about the state of exception declared in 5 departments on April 24, 2010 and its impact on the enjoyment of human rights of their inhabitants.
FIAN International has sent letters to representatives of the United Nations, the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights and UNASUR (Union of South American Nations) urging them to follow-up closely the current situation in Paraguay and adopt the pertinent measures on the matter.
