Written submission to IGWG on TNCs and Human Rights

As a member organization of the Treaty Alliance, FIAN International presented a series of oral statements to feed into the work, regarding both process and content, of the first session of the UN Open-ended intergovernmental working group (IGWG) on Transnational corporations and other business enterprises with regards to human rights. Further, FIAN International has submitted a written document on 24th July with some additional content-based contributions to the IGWG.

With this submission, FIAN aims to express its views on target topics within the IGWG work plan. The document includes a set of ideas to strengthen the first democratic debate on the issue. Recognizing the value of the process, this paper may be insightful for the debate on the principles, the scope and the content of the future Treaty. In its constructive spirit, FIAN International looks forward to further dialogues with peers and States to fine-tune strategies and positions.
