Twelve reasons to strengthen extraterritorial human rights

Brochure addressing some of the reasons for the necessary understanding of States obligations and a renewed commitment to human rights

The ETO Consortium, a network of more than 80 Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and academics dealing with economic, social and cultural rights (ESCR) and using the Maastricht Principles on States extraterritorial obligations as terms of reference, has published this informative booklet in three languages (English, French and Spanish) as a tool to highlight the indivisibility of human rights and point out the danger of reducing States obligations to territory.

Written by Rolf Künnemann, Human Rights Director of FIAN International, the Twelve Reasons to Strengthen Extraterritorial Human Rights booklet captures some of the discussions inside and outside the ETO Consortium and points out the main key reasons for States to rediscover the primacy of human rights and to remain or become legitimate.
