Report of the Case of Marina Kue and the “Curuguaty Massacre”

An updated report is published with an analysis of the land conflicts and criminalization of peasant movements in Paraguay

FIAN International, in collaboration with La Via Campesina and Food First / The Institute for Policy Food and Development, publishes a report based on the preliminary findings of an international Fact-Finding Mission of the case of Marina Kue and human rights violations against peasant farmers occurred in Paraguay in September 2012.

The report titled “Land Conflicts and Criminalization of Peasant Movements in Paraguay: The Case of Marina Kue and the ‘Curuguaty Massacre” is part of the Land & Sovereignty in the Americas series, which pulls together research and analysis from activists and scholars working to understand and halt the alarming trend in “land grabbing” and to support rural and urban commmunities in their efforts to protect their lands as the basis for self-determination.
