FIAN Submission to CEDAW: Access to Justice for Women

Achieving effective access to justice for women continues to be a challenge for the human rights systems at the national, regional and international levels.

The Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) is in the process of issuing a General Recommendation on the topic. On 1 February, FIAN International submitted a written contribution highlighting the main challenges for access to justice faced by women affected by violations of the right to adequate food. The contribution refers to diverse aspects at various levels, from the individual through the institutional level, including the challenges faced in the implementation of judicial decisions. On the 18 February, FIAN will read an oral statement during CEDAW’s debate on the topic. Read the written submission here.
