FIAN statement regarding communication to partners and staff of the Neumann Group regarding the eviction of inhabitants of four villages to make room for the Kaweri Plantation in Mubende, Uganda
The Neumann Group must take the situation of 2,041 displaced people in Uganda seriously into account and should not downplay the impact of their engagement in Uganda.
The substance of the recent communication of the Neumann Group regarding the consequences of its coffee plantation in Uganda indicates that the company is again attempting to ignore the suffering of the people evicted as a result of said plantation. Moreover, this communication contains questionable assertions and factually incorrect information.
