Ecuador: Planned dam threatens peasants’ access to land and river water in the province of Los Rios.

The Ecuadorian government made the “multi-purpose project Quevedo-Vinces” formally a national priority. This project, which includes a dam, a hydro-electric power station and a canal, will affect about 3.000 peasant families including afro–Ecuadorian communities and indigenous Tsáchila communities.

Please defend the right to food and water of this population by sending letters which ask the government to withdraw the executive order which declares the project a national priority.
