Decades of standing up for their human rights while facing discrimination deserves widespread recognition on International Women Human Rights Defenders Day.

Gendered threats to rural women’s right to food and nutrition are inextricably intertwined with the pervasive patriarchal norms and practices that discriminate against women and girls, reads a civil society submission to the Commission on the Status of Women.

On the occasion of Workers’ Day, the next issue looks into the gaps across the formal and informal sectors that prevent millions of female and male workers from enjoying basic rights and protections.
