Peasants demand own Human Rights Convention

From June 20 to 24, 2008, an International Conference on Peasants' Rights took place in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The delegates, mainly small farmers of the International movement La Via Campesina, demand a UN convention on peasant rights, as a "cornerstone to sustainable life for all human beings in our planet".
