New Urgent Action: Leader of anti-mining movement shot in Guatemala

On July 15, 2010, FIAN launched a new urgent action. In the past week two unknown men shot Ms. Diodora Antonia Hernández Cinto in her home. She is a community leader of the movement against the Marlin Mine. Please urge authorities to investigate the crime and impose the suspension of the Marlin project. The action will end on August 31, 2010.
