FIAN Celebrates the Ratification of the Optional Protocol to the ICESCR

FIAN International celebrates the ratification of the Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights. Rolf Künnemann, Human Rights Director of FIAN International

Rolf Künnemann, Human Rights Director of FIAN International, speaks about the Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.  After 20 years, the OP will finally enter into force on May 5, 2013, providing victims of violations of economic, social and cultural rights with an international forum in which to seek justice.  With the entry into force of OP victims can now bring their complaints before the UN when their countries fail to provide appropriate remedies.
