Do you want to be involved in FIAN at your local level?
The basis of FIAN is composed of local Right to Food promoters, be it individually or organized in action groups. Their commitment enables FIAN to be present in the general public. The wide scope of actions available to local promoters and groups are: Urgent Actions, public relations activities, informative meetings, participation in seminars and school lessons.
One of the most important tasks of local FIAN-promoters is the so-called case work, whereby they support certain groups of people during a, mostly quite long period, whose right to food has been violated or is being threatened. Due to constant international observance, public pressure is put on those responsible. FIAN is constantly looking for groups that will further promote and work on a specific case and make it one of their projects. In a lot of cases such partnerships develop into friendships, which last long after the original case has been solved.
